My Hiding Place

Lord
You invite me to come
To come and abide
With You awhile
I run to You
My sacred
Hiding place
I run
Desperate
To find You
Eagerly awaiting
With outstretched arms
You enfold me
In Your grace
You comfort
You strengthen me
In Your quiet abode
I find rest
My refuge
In which to cling
You hide me
From the rising waters
Save me from the turbulent waves
You keep me from drowning
You protect me from
Trouble on all sides
I am released
My chains are unbound
The whispers and the lies
From within are silenced
Painful sorrows
Anguish and grief
Are relinquished
Hidden before You
In Your dwelling
Where the
Temporal things are
Hollowed out
The cracks are
Sealed up
Darkness
turns to light
Shielded in
Your love and mercy
A hush spills over
The noise of this world
Is muted
A heart quickens
Ears press in
Attuned to only
Your voice
Breathing in
Breathing out
Inhaling Your Glory
Hidden within You
Peacefully unafraid
For thou art with me
You are my hiding place

SPIRITUAL WINTER

Photo by Egypt Butler on Unsplash

Here in this season
Where things feel different
A rest ushers in
This ‘Spiritual Winter’
Wraps the veil
Nearer to the core of existence
Calling out for rejuvenation,
Growth, a fresh revelation
And a newfound wisdom
A knowledge of understanding
That things change
One’s very essence
is tried and tested
God reaches out
With graceful intention
Bringing nourishment
To the hungry heart
And quenches
The dry and thirsty soul
As He prepares
The willing spirit for
A long winters rest
His grace covers
And a soul finds room to pause
Faithfully waiting upon Him
With eager anticipation
To bring a bountiful
Spring Harvest.

A PLACE IN THE COUNTRY

Photo by Athena on Pexels

A place in the country…

Is where I want to return to be.

It feels just like home to me.

The grass between my toes

Brings back memories of not so long ago.

When life was a much simpler time

And a sense of wonder was all mine.

Through my childhood years and into my youth

It was here that I found my God and Truth.

Growing in Faith and in the knowledge of His Word

I learned to depend and trust solely on the Lord.

While walking through these fields that I have returned

I have never forgotten the lessons that I learned.

I can still feel the gentle breeze of His love upon my face

The trip back to the country was more than just a kind embrace.

God’s grace is still abundantly present in this place.

Jesus Loves Me

Photo by Ales Maze on Unsplash

It’s hard to imagine that I’m anything special.
Just a sinner who is loved regardless of my faults or failures.

One day God reached down from the heavens and stole my heart.

From that day forward I was never the same.
He washed away all my guilt and shame.

Jesus became the keeper of my heart.
My love for him will never depart.

When I sit quietly and listen
In stillness I hear.
He softly whispers.
I will always love you —
In so many wonderful ways.

May I never forget His sacrificial love displayed at Calvary’s Cross, so that a sinner just like me may be saved.

Thank You, My Beautiful Jesus!

Pieces of Me

Image | Joshua Sortino – Location | Glass Beach, Fort Bragg & Mendocino, California.

He’s just moving the pieces around.

Here I am, Lord. Take all of Me.

I offer You my life, every part of me.

Piece by piece, I surrender to You.

In You, I can be totally and utterly free.

In You, I am accepted and unmasked.

In You, There is no fear in hiding

any of the pieces of my broken heart.

In You, I can learn to believe in myself
as You believe in me.

In You, I will patiently wait as You
gently move the pieces around.

In You, I can find mending.

Even still, piece by broken piece..

In You, I am complete.

If you’re having
a hard time
finding courage
in any given situation,
remember Jesus
is your strength.
Allow Him
to help you
stand tall
and courageously
in the face of
trials,
pain or grief.

WATER’S EDGE

Photo by Jason Yoder on Unsplash

At water’s edge:
We find time to think;
it is the fountain of all reflection.

At water’s edge:
We find time to read God’s Word;
for it is the foundation of wisdom.

At water’s edge:
We find time to play;
it is the secret to staying youthful.

At water’s edge:
We find time to be quiet;
it is the opportunity to sit in God’s presence.

At water’s edge:
We find time to be aware;
It is a moment to appreciate His goodness.

At water’s edge:
We find time to help others;
it is a chance to be a good steward.

At water’s edge:
We find time to love and be loved;
it is God’s greatest offering.

At water’s edge:
We find time for laughter;
it is the sound of joy to the soul.

At water’s edge:
We find time to be kind;
It is life’s warmest gesture.

At water’s edge:
We find time to dream;
it is to seek to achieve our deepest desires.

At water’s edge:
We find time to hope;
It is the sovereignty of God to drive out fear.

At water’s edge:
We find time to pray;
it is the most immense power on earth.

At water’s edge:
We find time for joy;
it is the joy found in the Lord that gives strength.

At water’s edge :
We find time for forgiveness;
it is unfailing love & compassion; the mercy of God.

At water’s edge;
We find time for Grace;
it is the boundless favor of God; extended to others.

At water’s edge:
We find time to live for God;
It is through faith in Christ and the finished work at Calvary.

At water’s edge:
We find salvation through Jesus Christ;
He is the greatest gift; given to us by God.

… And someday, when we sit above on high; in the heavenly realm, saved and redeemed from sin and death, we will look back and ponder in remembrance of the things that we were taught as we sat faithfully still in the Father’s warm embrace; learning and growing in Him by the water’s edge.

AN EXPRESSION OF HIS LOVE

Image by Tünde from Pixabay

To see beauty
in its purest, truest
simplest form
is how God sees you.

You are an expression of His love.
.
.
.
Biblical truth tells us that all angels are male and nor do angels have wings as we have been led to believe.

Although, there are no female angels; only male angels in heaven, this was written to show how that God Sees the Heart.

“The Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
- 1 Samuel 16:7

I love how the wings in this picture are a representation of the child of God and an expression of His love.

This is the reflection I was trying to convey.

Blessed with Grace and Joy

Photo by LucasVphotos on Unsplash

His Grace is like the wind,
Breath and life ascend.

Flowing freely on a gentle breeze
Releasing the debt of sin.

Eyes that can now fully see.
Forgiveness granted to
All those who Believe.

Rising through the air
Far and reaching wide to declare,

That Jesus gives us His amazing grace,
Which brings comfort to embrace.

Our blessed hope,
Our strength,
Our Savior;
Declared Worthy
we have found favor.

In His sacrificial love thereof;
our spirits are warmed by thy promise
of heaven above.

Bringing to our hearts which He faithfully employs
Awakening us to an abundance of joy —
Here on earth and for all eternity forevermore.

Salvation provided to whosoever will.
A gift freely given; graciously awaiting
all those even still.

Jesus died to prove His love.
The debt of sin paid for in full
by His precious Blood.

For whenever we feel lost
We can look to — The Cross,

And be reminded that
nothing can ever replace or destroy
His atoning sacrifice,
which proclaims that our lives are
Blessed with Grace and Joy.
