CONTENTMENT

Just like the ocean tides
That ebb and flow,
So goes the hours
That come and go
When our hearts
Reach with
Graceful intention
To fill the empty spaces
That gathers amongst
The crashing waves
To bring forth beauty
In the unknowns,
In our wanderings,
And beyond the mystery
Of understanding.
When hope rises up
Past the harsh elements,
Bringing His light
Into fruition
And by the
Touch of His hand
The tide recedes
Leaving behind
Beautiful seashells
Of every shape
upon the white
glistening sands.
The seashore is
Built up, revived
And strengthened
In resemblance to
Our once tattered
But resilient souls.
His love carries us
Just as the ocean
Carries the waves
That ebb and flow.
It is here we find
In this knowledge
That we can
Face tomorrow
When the hours
That come and go
Fill our hearts
With contentment.

.
.
.

For all the brave, resilient souls who have found contentment along the journey, regardless of the unknown mysteries that may lie ahead.

WILDFLOWER

Photo by Diana Parkhouse on Unsplash

How did God know
That the wildflower
With soft bokeh
Would make
My heart long so?

It has awakened my soul
With a desire to become
As lovely and as whole.

The wildflower
Does not know
Of the splendour
For which it so
Elegantly beholds.

I wonder if I will
Ever become more.

Then softly,
He whispers;
In quietude I hear.

My beloved,
Thou are the loveliest
Of all the wildflowers
Amongst the fields.

Do you not know
How much my love
For you yields?

Just as the
Wildflower who
Does not realize
Its purpose
And beauty,
It is The Lord,
Whom reveals.

I will replace the
blanket of bokeh,
And cover you
In grace.

As your heart
Comes closer
Into focus,
It is then that
You will see.

That it was I who
Has created You
In beauty and in poem.

You were fashioned
Together, woven,
And spun by the
Work of My hands.
It was through me
That your life began.

Out of everything,
It is You that I have
Specifically created,
So that You will know
That I am the Lord,
Your God.

My love for You
Has faithfully shown
That You are the
Expression of my love.

The one who,
Out of all of creation,
It is You who
I deeply treasure.

The one in whom
I deeply cherish.

You are My Wildflower.

Walking With Jesus

Photo by frank mckenna on Unsplash

I wrote this poem in honor and in memory of my sweet sister in law –

Karon Dawn Mullis, who recently went home to be with the Lord.

~ April 17, 1964 – July 17, 2021 ~

Always in my heart. ♡~
.
.
.
Walking with Jesus,
Talking with Jesus,
Hand in hand
Along the glistening sands.

He is my Savior;
He is my friend,
The one I can depend.

Take my hand precious Lord;
Walk with me;
Talk with me.

Guide me along eternity’s path.
I surrender my all
To you; I am in awe.

My blessed Savior,
My Redeemer,
The Rock of my Salvation.

Walk with me Jesus
Hand in hand
Along the glistening sands.

The shore is just within my grasp.
I am finally free everlast.
Abounding in love,
my eternal home is at last
A dwelling place to cast
All my worries.
Fears and concerns
Now are just things of the past.

Just as the sun was rising
When once I beheld a splendid dream,
My heart began to beam.
Such beauty I could not imagine;
Heaven is just over the horizon.

Love You Always, Tina ♡

Planted by Rivers of Living Water

Favor fills
a heart that
pursues
righteousness.

Which proceeds
with resolve,
to abide
to dwell,
to meditate
day and night
in the Lord’s
statutes
in the manner of
Christ Jesus.

Well-watered
with roots
that grow deep,
and in due season
springs up,
flourishing,
giving life
to all who
believe in Him ―
The True Vine!

Forbearing and
with living intention
in proper time
yields a
harvest.

Holding fast
to the profession
of faith
in Jesus and
in His Holy Word,
hearts become
transformed.

For whosoever
continually drinks of
His Living Waters
will not dry up,
nor fade away
but so shall succeed
in increase.

― Inspired by Psalm‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he does shall prosper.”

Prayer For Today:

Lord, please help us to remain deeply rooted in unwavering and steadfast love for you, bearing fruit in each due season, and immovable when faced with adversity and those things that may dare to test our faith. Grant us favor, all the blessings and prosperity you have for us in the future. Help us, Lord, to remain focused on You, the giver of all spiritual increase. May we remain planted by Your Rivers of Living Water. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Peace Abounds

Hands stretched out
longing to be
fully seen,
fully known,
fully loved.

Waves of sunlight
burst forth.

Sun rays embrace
like a comforting
blanket,

A softness covers
Thy yearning,

Thy souls desire.

A voice emerges
from beneath the
desert places.

With a force of authority
gentleness speaks,

“I am here.”

I am perfectly seen.
I am altogether known.
I am intimately loved.

Peace abounds!

Reconciled by Christ

Photo by eberhard 🖐 grossgasteiger on Unsplash

Thy sins

were like a stain

covered in the chaos

of life’s elements that

corrode and decay,

not withstanding

the unseen forces

that threaten to hinder

and carry away

the love of thy heart,

the one who would

show the way.

Turning from that

which was wicked,

treachery with

its disguise

of verity seeps in

to attempt to

pull down,

tear apart

all that honesty

has taught,

twisting all that is

honorable and true

into lies.

From within,

far beneath the soil

embedded and

planted deep,

allegiance springs forth

to proclaim

a firm foundation.

Towering

high above

in fierce solidity

and power,

consecration is renewed.

His Life blood

poured out,

Victory was won!

Weary souls

can now find rest.

The enemy

has not prevailed.

Christ has made us free

atop a hill called Calvary

All of thy days,

in adoration

we shall praise

and worship Thee.

Inspired by Colossians‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”

The Father I Never Had

There I am at the age of two
Playing with my doll as little girls do,

Sitting on the front porch with my mother.
Tear filled eyes that soak and cover,
Her face reveals sadness like none other.

How could he leave?
It’s hard to believe.
He chose not to stay.
Oh, how my mother prayed!

God, help me to understand.
This was not your plan.
The love of my Father
I have wanted for so long.
What did I do wrong?

Seeing other daughters with their dads-
Oh, such a huge part of me was missing.
Something I never had was those
precious moments of reminiscin’.

Asking myself Why?
Doesn’t He love me?
Why wasn’t I the apple of his eye?
The pain of his absence I cannot deny.

What if he had stayed?
Would I be different?
So many times I’ve prayed.
And God would answer and say,
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
You are not insignificant.

My earthly Father, no he wasn’t there.
The pain and hurt were so unfair.
In God, I found the strength and the love to bear.
The forgiveness in my heart I humbly share.

I’m grateful for the woman I have become.
I finally found my place in the ‘Son.’
I choose to live out His love
as the purpose of my life,
While reminding others that
His love will always suffice.

Whenever I start to feel sad
I remember how He has carried me this far.
Never will He abandon me or leave a scar.
His love makes my spirit glad.
He’s the Father I never had.

Jesus Brought Me Out

Jesus brought me out by His love
demonstrated at the Cross.

He reached down and rescued me
from the penalty of sin and death.

He pulled me up, out
from the deep, dark, and
horrifying pit, and set my feet
upon a Rock.

He has established my steps
from this day forward and
forevermore —
to keep me from sinking
deeper into the miry clay.

Faithfully I live this day,
every day —
eternally placing
my trust in God alone.

Saved and redeemed,
may I never try to extricate
myself by way of my own means
and strength but by way
of the Cross.

It is there that He brought me out.

Inspired by ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭40:2

“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

Pause On Purpose

Image via Tina Unsell Seamon

There is so much beauty in the world,

And most oftentimes in the busyness of the day,

we never take time to notice it.

Remember to…

Pause on purpose.

Just for a moment,

be still.

Notice the astounding beauty

that surrounds us.

Cherish it with gratitude,

for all of creation is a gift

from above

that is beautifully written by the hand of God.

God Bless You,

Tina ~
